About Qarbotech

Qarbotech is a nanotechnology and agritech company pioneering Carbon Quantum Dot (CQD)-based solutions that enhance photosynthesis and improve crop yields sustainably. Through our flagship product, QarboGrow, we are redefining how modern agriculture addresses food security, climate resilience, and sustainable farming. With operations spanning Malaysia and a growing international footprint, we are actively expanding our presence across key markets including Singapore and the broader Southeast Asia region.

Role Overview

As Business Development Manager, you will own Qarbotech’s commercial growth and market expansion in Singapore and the wider region. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role for someone who is entrepreneurially minded, commercially sharp, and motivated by building a category rather than selling into an established one.

You will be responsible for identifying and closing new business, building the distribution and partner network, supporting investor and stakeholder engagement, and shaping the go-to-market strategy for QarboGrow in the region. You will work directly with the leadership team and carry genuine ownership over pipeline, targets, and market strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Market Development & Opportunity Mapping

• Map and prioritise potential customers, distribution partners, and strategic collaborators in Singapore and the region.

• Track industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments relevant to agritech and sustainable agriculture.

• Build and qualify a pipeline across key channels including agri-distributors, government-linked bodies, research institutions, and food producers.

Business Development & Sales

• Plan and execute outreach campaigns to prospective clients and partners, and convert them into commercial conversations.

• Prepare business proposals, pitch decks, and partnership briefs tailored to the Singapore market.• Lead introductory meetings, product presentations, and follow-ups, moving opportunities through the pipeline to close.

• Negotiate commercial terms and manage the handover into ongoing account management.

• Own and report against a defined pipeline and revenue target.

Investor & Partner Engagement

• Contribute to investor materials including information memoranda, one-pagers, and data room documents.

• Support due diligence processes by collating relevant company and market data.

• Maintain and update the investor CRM and deal tracker.

Go-to-Market Strategy

• Develop and refine the go-to-market plan for QarboGrow in Singapore, including channel strategy and pricing benchmarking.

• Analyse sales channel performance and recommend prioritisation based on commercial potential.

• Feed market and customer insight back into product, pricing, and positioning decisions.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the leadership team and the Malaysia-based commercial and technical teams on aligned regional strategy.

• Participate in team calls, strategy sessions, and regular performance reviews.

• Maintain accurate internal reporting and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or commercial roles — ideally in agriculture, agritech, chemicals, or a technical B2B category.

• Demonstrated track record of building a pipeline and closing deals independently.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to craft compelling, professional correspondence and present confidently to senior stakeholders.

• Commercially minded, with sound judgement on market opportunities, customer segments, and competitive positioning.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote setup, managing own time, targets, and deliverables with minimal supervision.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; working familiarity with CRM and project management tools.

Preferred

• Existing network within Singapore’s agri-food, horticulture, or sustainability ecosystem.

• Experience selling or distributing agricultural inputs, crop protection products, or fertilisers.

• Exposure to early-stage or high-growth company environments.

• Genuine interest in sustainability, food systems, or agri-innovation.

• Additional language ability relevant to regional markets is an advantage.

• Singapore-based candidates preferred to facilitate local market access and networking. What We Offer

• Ownership of a market from the ground up, with direct influence over strategy rather than execution of someone else’s plan.

• Direct working relationship with the founding and leadership team.

• Exposure to a genuinely novel technology platform and a product category still being defined.

• Cross-border commercial experience across Malaysia, Singapore, and the wider region.

• Competitive package commensurate with experience, with performance-linked upside.

• A mission-driven team working on technology that matters — from food security to climate resilience.
