1. What made you choose fig farming?
We chose fig farming because figs are extraordinary. They’re not just a nutritious fruit rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants—they also carry historical and cultural significance. Figs are deeply tied to our traditions and faith, which inspires us to cultivate and share them with others. Our goal was to introduce this beneficial fruit to the community and let people experience its unique taste and value.
2. What are some challenges faced with specialty fig farming?
Specialty fig farming comes with its unique challenges. The delicate nature of fig plants, especially in Malaysia’s humid and rainy climate, can affect growth and fruit quality. Figs require precise care in terms of fertilisation, irrigation, and pest control. Additionally, building awareness about figs is challenging since they’re still relatively new to many people here. Despite these hurdles, seeing people enjoy the fruits of our labour makes it all worthwhile.

3. How did you come to know about QarboGrow™, and why did you decide to use it for figs?
